GUIDELINES FOR EXHIBITING ARTISTS
Selection of Work
Work is selected by the Gallery Directors to enhance the theme of each exhibit. Whenever possible, work is presented so that viewers and collectors can experience a sampling of each artist’s body of work. Additionally, popUp will showcase selected solo artists as space permits. Gallery Directors, Gabriele Bungardt and Mi’Chelle Fredrick curate and assemble all exhibits.
Artwork will be selected based in part upon the following criteria:
- Innovation in style, technique, use of materials, etc.
- Demonstration of artistic excellence, high quality and skill in execution
- Content or message that suits a theme or focus for an exhibit
- Representation of the artist’s body of work
Gallery Openings
Show duration is typically between the first and the last Saturday of a month. Installation of art is during the week before the Opening Reception and all art must be removed after the Closing Reception. Under NO circumstance can art be stored at the gallery.
popUp Gallery will be open to the public at Opening Receptions, during Estuary Art Walk (second Friday of the month) and at Closing Reception. Exhibiting Artists should be present at all or some of those occasions. Additionally the gallery will open every Friday and Saturday evening and by special request.
Fees and Commissions
At this point, popUp Gallery charges no fees for submittals. Artists are responsible for sales of their work. The gallery takes no commissions on works sold as a result of gallery exhibitions. In exchange for this opportunity, and to pay back to the greater art community, popUp Gallery encourages artists who sell work as a result of our exhibition to make a donation of 20% of the sale price to an art-related nonprofit organization. A list of recommended organizations will be provided to exhibiting artists or you can choose your own.
Terms and Conditions for Exhibiting Artists
Works of art must be original creations of the artist under whose signature they appear. popUp Gallery assumes no responsibility for copyright infringement by exhibiting artists.
